वेदोक्तेन प्रमाणेन पितॄणां प्रक्रियासु च ।
अतोऽन्यथा वृथामांसमभक्ष्यं मनुरब्रवीत् ॥५०॥

That oblation (havis) which has been sanctified with sacred incantations (mantra), sprinkled, consecrated, and made pure; and which conforms to the standard declared in the Vedas for ancestral rites – Manu has declared that any meat prepared otherwise is useless and unfit for consumption.
