महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-116, verse-37

यो हि खादति मांसानि प्राणिनां जीवितार्थिनाम् ।
हतानां वा मृतानां वा यथा हन्ता तथैव सः ॥३७॥
37. yo hi khādati māṁsāni prāṇināṁ jīvitārthinām ,
hatānāṁ vā mṛtānāṁ vā yathā hantā tathaiva saḥ.

hatānām vā mṛtānām vā yathā hantā tathā eva saḥ
37. yaḥ hi jīvitārthinām prāṇinām hatānām vā mṛtānām
vā māṃsāni khādati saḥ yathā hantā tathā eva
37. Whoever indeed consumes the flesh of living beings (prāṇin) who desire to live, whether those beings are killed or already dead, that person is certainly just like the one who kills.
