महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-116, verse-25

अहिंसा परमो धर्मस्तथाहिंसा परं तपः ।
अहिंसा परमं सत्यं ततो धर्मः प्रवर्तते ॥२५॥
25. ahiṁsā paramo dharmastathāhiṁsā paraṁ tapaḥ ,
ahiṁsā paramaṁ satyaṁ tato dharmaḥ pravartate.
25. ahiṃsā paramaḥ dharmaḥ tathā ahiṃsā paraṃ tapaḥ
ahiṃsā paramaṃ satyaṃ tataḥ dharmaḥ pravartate
