महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-116, verse-46

भक्षयित्वा तु यो मांसं पश्चादपि निवर्तते ।
तस्यापि सुमहान्धर्मो यः पापाद्विनिवर्तते ॥४६॥
46. bhakṣayitvā tu yo māṁsaṁ paścādapi nivartate ,
tasyāpi sumahāndharmo yaḥ pāpādvinivartate.
46. bhakṣayitvā tu yaḥ māṃsam paścāt api nivartate
tasya api sumahān dharmaḥ yaḥ pāpāt vinivartate
46. tu yaḥ māṃsam bhakṣayitvā api paścāt nivartate
tasya api sumahān dharmaḥ yaḥ pāpāt vinivartate
46. But he who, even after having eaten meat, later abstains from it; for him, there is also a very great righteous conduct (dharma), for he completely turns away from sin.
