महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-116, verse-15

ददाति यजते चापि तपस्वी च भवत्यपि ।
मधुमांसनिवृत्त्येति प्राहैवं स बृहस्पतिः ॥१५॥
15. dadāti yajate cāpi tapasvī ca bhavatyapi ,
madhumāṁsanivṛttyeti prāhaivaṁ sa bṛhaspatiḥ.

madhumāṃsanivṛttyā iti prāha evam saḥ bṛhaspatiḥ
15. saḥ bṛhaspatiḥ evam prāha iti madhumāṃsanivṛttyā
(yaḥ) dadāti ca api yajate ca api tapasvī api bhavati
15. He gives, performs a Vedic ritual (yajña), and also becomes an ascetic simply by abstaining from honey and meat. Bṛhaspati thus declared this.
