महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-116, verse-23

किं पुनर्हन्यमानानां तरसा जीवितार्थिनाम् ।
अरोगाणामपापानां पापैर्मांसोपजीविभिः ॥२३॥
23. kiṁ punarhanyamānānāṁ tarasā jīvitārthinām ,
arogāṇāmapāpānāṁ pāpairmāṁsopajīvibhiḥ.

23. How much more [grievous is it] when healthy, innocent beings, desirous of life, are forcefully killed by sinful meat-eaters?
