महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-116, verse-20

सर्वभूतेषु यो विद्वान्ददात्यभयदक्षिणाम् ।
दाता भवति लोके स प्राणानां नात्र संशयः ॥२०॥
20. sarvabhūteṣu yo vidvāndadātyabhayadakṣiṇām ,
dātā bhavati loke sa prāṇānāṁ nātra saṁśayaḥ.
20. sarvabhūteṣu yaḥ vidvān dadāti abhayadakṣiṇām
dātā bhavati loke saḥ prāṇānām na atra saṃśayaḥ
20. yaḥ vidvān sarvabhūteṣu abhayadakṣiṇām dadāti
saḥ loke prāṇānām dātā bhavati na atra saṃśayaḥ
20. That learned person who bestows the offering of fearlessness upon all beings, he indeed becomes a giver of lives (to others) in this world; there is no doubt about it.
