महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-68, verse-28

मन्यते पापकं कृत्वा न कश्चिद्वेत्ति मामिति ।
विदन्ति चैनं देवाश्च स्वश्चैवान्तरपूरुषः ॥२८॥
28. manyate pāpakaṁ kṛtvā na kaścidvetti māmiti ,
vidanti cainaṁ devāśca svaścaivāntarapūruṣaḥ.
28. manyate pāpakam kṛtvā na kaścit vetti mām iti
vidanti ca enam devāḥ ca svaḥ ca eva antarapuruṣaḥ
28. Having committed a sinful deed, one thinks, 'No one knows me.' But the gods know him, and so does the inner puruṣa within him.
