अयुध्यन्त महावेगाः परस्परवधैषिणः ।
अन्योन्यं समरे जघ्नुर्योधव्रतमनुष्ठिताः ।
न हि ते समरं चक्रुः पृष्ठतो वै कथंचन ॥४८॥

na hi te samaraṁ cakruḥ pṛṣṭhato vai kathaṁcana.

Those of great impetuosity, desiring each other's death, fought. They killed one another in battle, observing the warrior's code. Indeed, they never fought from behind by any means.
