महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-19, verse-45

अथ तूर्यसहस्राणि प्रावाद्यन्त महामृधे ।
क्ष्वेडाः किलकिलाशब्दाः प्रादुरासन्महीपते ।
यदभ्यगच्छन्समरे पाञ्चालाः कौरवैः सह ॥४५॥
45. atha tūryasahasrāṇi prāvādyanta mahāmṛdhe ,
kṣveḍāḥ kilakilāśabdāḥ prādurāsanmahīpate ,
yadabhyagacchansamare pāñcālāḥ kauravaiḥ saha.

45. O King, then thousands of musical instruments were loudly played in the great battle. Roars and tumultuous cries arose when the Pāñcālas engaged the Kauravas in combat.
