महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-31, verse-73

ततो हता नररथवाजिकुञ्जरैरनेकशो द्विपरथवाजिपत्तयः ।
गजैर्गजा रथिभिरुदायुधा रथा हयैर्हयाः पत्तिगणैश्च पत्तयः ॥७३॥
73. tato hatā nararathavājikuñjarai;ranekaśo dviparathavājipattayaḥ ,
gajairgajā rathibhirudāyudhā rathā; hayairhayāḥ pattigaṇaiśca pattayaḥ.

73. Then, elephants, chariots, horses, and foot soldiers were slain in great numbers by men, chariots, horses, and elephants. Elephants were killed by elephants; armed chariots were killed by charioteers; horses by horses; and foot soldiers by groups of foot soldiers.
