योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-6, chapter-80, verse-80

स्वयं नानात्वमायान्ति चिरं जाड्यात्स्फुरन्ति च ।
स्वविविक्ताः शमं यान्ति तरङ्गा इव वारिधौ ॥ ८० ॥
svayaṃ nānātvamāyānti ciraṃ jāḍyātsphuranti ca ,
svaviviktāḥ śamaṃ yānti taraṅgā iva vāridhau 80
80. svayam nānātvam āyānti ciram jāḍyāt sphuranti ca ।
svaviviktāḥ śamam yānti taraṅgāḥ iva vāridhau
80. svayam nānātvam āyānti ca ciram jāḍyāt sphuranti
svaviviktāḥ vāridhau taraṅgā iva śamam yānti
80. They spontaneously assume various forms and manifest for a long time due to inertia (jāḍya). When they become distinct from their own essential nature, they attain tranquility, just like waves in the ocean.
