असत्यमपि नैवाहं ब्रूयां वचनमीदृशम् ।
कथमप्रियमेवाहं ब्रूयां सत्यमिदं वचः ॥३७॥

37. asatyamapi naivāhaṃ brūyāṃ vacanamīdṛśam ,
kathamapriyamevāhaṃ brūyāṃ satyamidaṃ vacaḥ.

37. asatyam api na eva aham brūyām vacanam īdṛśam
katham apriyam eva aham brūyām satyam idam vacaḥ

37. aham īdṛśam asatyam api vacanam na eva brūyām.
katham aham idam satyam apriyam eva vacaḥ brūyām?

37. I would certainly not speak such a false statement. How then could I speak this true but unpleasant word?
