महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-101, verse-66

तस्य सूते हते तेऽश्वा रथमादाय विद्रुताः ।
समरे शरसंवीता भारद्वाजेन मारिष ॥६६॥
66. tasya sūte hate te'śvā rathamādāya vidrutāḥ ,
samare śarasaṁvītā bhāradvājena māriṣa.

66. (he) māriṣa,

66. O respected one (Māriṣa), when his (Chekitāna's) charioteer was killed, those horses, struck by the arrows of Drona (Bhāradvāja) in the battle, ran away, carrying the chariot.
