महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-101, verse-56

धर्मो युद्धं क्षत्रियस्य ब्राह्मणस्य परं तपः ।
तपस्वी कृतविद्यश्च प्रेक्षितेनापि निर्दहेत् ॥५६॥
56. dharmo yuddhaṁ kṣatriyasya brāhmaṇasya paraṁ tapaḥ ,
tapasvī kṛtavidyaśca prekṣitenāpi nirdahet.
56. dharmaḥ yuddham kṣatriyasya brāhmaṇasya param tapaḥ
| tapasvī kṛtavidyaḥ ca prekṣitena api nirdāhet
56. kṣatriyasya yuddham dharmaḥ brāhmaṇasya param

56. For a warrior (kṣatriya), battle is the natural law (dharma); for a Brahmin, the supreme spiritual discipline (tapas) is proper. Indeed, an ascetic (tapasvī) who is accomplished in knowledge could burn others even with a mere glance.
