महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-101, verse-37

पतंगं हि ग्रसेच्चाषो यथा राजन्बुभुक्षितः ।
तथा द्रोणोऽग्रसच्छूरो धृष्टकेतुं महामृधे ॥३७॥
37. pataṁgaṁ hi graseccāṣo yathā rājanbubhukṣitaḥ ,
tathā droṇo'grasacchūro dhṛṣṭaketuṁ mahāmṛdhe.
37. pataṅgam hi graset cāṣaḥ yathā rājan bubhukṣitaḥ
tathā droṇaḥ agrasat śūraḥ dhṛṣṭaketum mahāmṛdhe
37. rājan yathā bubhukṣitaḥ cāṣaḥ pataṅgam hi graset
tathā śūraḥ droṇaḥ mahāmṛdhe dhṛṣṭaketum agrasat
37. Just as a hungry jay would surely devour an insect, O King, so too did the valiant Droṇa consume Dhṛṣṭaketu in the great battle.
