महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-20, verse-65

सहस्रैका यता नारी प्राप्नोतीह कदाचन ।
तथा शतसहस्रेषु यदि काचित्पतिव्रता ॥६५॥
65. sahasraikā yatā nārī prāpnotīha kadācana ,
tathā śatasahasreṣu yadi kācitpativratā.

65. Hardly one woman in a thousand here (on earth) attains [true virtue or fidelity]. Similarly, among hundreds of thousands, there might be one who is a truly devoted wife (pativratā).
