महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-20, verse-53

ब्रह्मन्न कामकारोऽस्ति स्त्रीणां पुरुषतो धृतिः ।
कामेन मोहिता चाहं त्वां भजन्तीं भजस्व माम् ॥५३॥
53. brahmanna kāmakāro'sti strīṇāṁ puruṣato dhṛtiḥ ,
kāmena mohitā cāhaṁ tvāṁ bhajantīṁ bhajasva mām.
53. brahman na kāmakāraḥ asti strīṇām puruṣataḥ dhṛtiḥ
kāmena mohitā ca aham tvām bhajantīm bhajasva mām
53. brahman strīṇām puruṣataḥ dhṛtiḥ na kāmakāraḥ asti
ca aham kāmena mohitā tvām bhajantīm mām bhajasva
53. O (brahman), women have no independent will; their steadfastness (dhṛti) comes from a man. And I, bewildered by desire (kāma), am devoted to you, so accept me!
