महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-63, verse-7

ध्वजौ च दृष्ट्वा संसक्तौ विस्मयः समपद्यत ।
हस्तिकक्ष्यां च कर्णस्य वानरं च किरीटिनः ॥७॥
7. dhvajau ca dṛṣṭvā saṁsaktau vismayaḥ samapadyata ,
hastikakṣyāṁ ca karṇasya vānaraṁ ca kirīṭinaḥ.

7. And when they observed the two banners, Karna's (displaying) the elephant emblem and the diadem-wearer's (Arjuna's) (displaying) the monkey, in close contact, astonishment arose.
