महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-87, verse-24

सततं प्रियकामाश्च कर्णस्यैते वशे स्थिताः ।
तस्यैव वचनाद्राजन्निवृत्ताः श्वेतवाहनात् ॥२४॥
24. satataṁ priyakāmāśca karṇasyaite vaśe sthitāḥ ,
tasyaiva vacanādrājannivṛttāḥ śvetavāhanāt.
24. satatam priyakāmāḥ ca karṇasya ete vaśe sthitāḥ
tasya eva vacanāt rājan nivṛttāḥ śvetavāhanāt
24. rājan ete satatam priyakāmāḥ ca karṇasya vaśe
sthitāḥ tasya eva vacanāt śvetavāhanāt nivṛttāḥ
24. And these men, always desiring Karṇa's favor, remain under his control. O King, it was only by his command that they turned away from Arjuna (śvetavāhana).
