महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-146, verse-62

स लाङ्गूलरवस्तस्य मत्तवारणनिस्वनम् ।
अन्तर्धाय विचित्रेषु चचार गिरिसानुषु ॥६२॥
62. sa lāṅgūlaravastasya mattavāraṇanisvanam ,
antardhāya vicitreṣu cacāra girisānuṣu.

antardhāya vicitreṣu cacāra giri-sānuṣu
62. The sound (rava) of his tail (lāṅgūla) overshadowed the trumpeting (nisvanam) of that intoxicated elephant. He (saḥ) roamed (cacara) through the diverse (vicitreṣu) mountain slopes (girisānuṣu).
