Śrī Vasiṣṭha said: O faultless one (anagha), right at the time of the primordial creation (ādi-sarga), no entity (artha) whatsoever, like the cosmic self (virāṭ-ātman) and so on, was ever born. Therefore, there is no possibility for an object of knowledge (jñeya) to exist.
