महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-12, verse-60

तेषां द्विपानां विचकर्त पार्थो वर्माणि मर्माणि करान्नियन्तॄन् ।
ध्वजाः पताकाश्च ततः प्रपेतुर्वज्राहतानीव गिरेः शिरांसि ॥६०॥
60. teṣāṁ dvipānāṁ vicakarta pārtho; varmāṇi marmāṇi karānniyantṝn ,
dhvajāḥ patākāśca tataḥ prapetu;rvajrāhatānīva gireḥ śirāṁsi.

60. pārthaḥ teṣām dvipānām varmāṇi marmāṇi karān niyantṝn vicakarta.

60. Arjuna severed the armors, vital spots, trunks, and mahouts of those elephants. Then, their banners and flags fell down, just like mountain peaks struck by a thunderbolt.
