महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-12, verse-46

ततः परमसंक्रुद्धः काण्डकोशानवासृजत् ।
अश्वत्थामाभिरूपाय गृहानतिथये यथा ॥४६॥
46. tataḥ paramasaṁkruddhaḥ kāṇḍakośānavāsṛjat ,
aśvatthāmābhirūpāya gṛhānatithaye yathā.

46. Then, exceedingly enraged, Ashvatthama discharged arrows from his quivers without restraint, just as one would generously offer dwellings to a worthy guest.
