महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-12, verse-53

स केशवं चार्जुनं चातितेजा विव्याध मर्मस्वतिरौद्रकर्मा ।
बाणैः सुमुक्तैरतितीव्रवेगैर्यैराहतो मृत्युरपि व्यथेत ॥५३॥
53. sa keśavaṁ cārjunaṁ cātitejā; vivyādha marmasvatiraudrakarmā ,
bāṇaiḥ sumuktairatitīvravegai;ryairāhato mṛtyurapi vyatheta.
53. saḥ keśavam ca arjunam ca atitejaḥ
vivyādha marmasu atiraudrakarmā
bāṇaiḥ sumuktaiḥ atitīvravegaiḥ
yaiḥ āhataḥ mṛtyuḥ api vyatheta

53. Ashvatthama (saḥ), of immense prowess (atitejaḥ) and exceedingly fierce actions (atiroudrakarmā), pierced Krishna (Keshava) and Arjuna in their vital points with arrows that were excellently discharged and of extremely sharp velocity – arrows by which even Death itself would be tormented.
