महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-73, verse-43

ततो व्यमुह्यन्त रणे नृवीराः प्रमोहनास्त्राहतबुद्धिसत्त्वाः ।
प्रदुद्रुवुः कुरवश्चैव सर्वे सवाजिनागाः सरथाः समन्तात् ।
परीतकालानिव नष्टसंज्ञान्मोहोपेतांस्तव पुत्रान्निशम्य ॥४३॥
43. tato vyamuhyanta raṇe nṛvīrāḥ; pramohanāstrāhatabuddhisattvāḥ ,
pradudruvuḥ kuravaścaiva sarve; savājināgāḥ sarathāḥ samantāt ,
parītakālāniva naṣṭasaṁjñā;nmohopetāṁstava putrānniśamya.
43. tataḥ vyamuhyanta raṇe nṛvīrāḥ pramohanāstrāhatabuddhisattvāḥ
| pradudruvuḥ kuravaḥ ca eva
sarve savājināgāḥ sarathāḥ samantāt | parītakālān
iva naṣṭasaṃjñān mohopetān tava putrān niśamya

samantāt pradudruvuḥ tava putrān naṣṭasaṃjñān

43. Then, the human heroes (kṣatriyas) in battle became utterly bewildered, their intellects and vital energy (sattva) struck down by the bewildering weapon (pramohanāstra). And all the Kurus, along with their horses, elephants, and chariots, fled in all directions. Observing your sons thus overcome by delusion (moha), their consciousness (saṃjñā) lost, as if seized by the grip of death (kāla), they scattered.
