महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-157, verse-70

तं प्रेक्ष्य निहतं भूमौ हतशेषा निशाचराः ।
भीममार्तस्वरं कृत्वा जग्मुः प्राचीं दिशं प्रति ॥७०॥
70. taṁ prekṣya nihataṁ bhūmau hataśeṣā niśācarāḥ ,
bhīmamārtasvaraṁ kṛtvā jagmuḥ prācīṁ diśaṁ prati.
70. tam prekṣya nihatam bhūmau hata-śeṣāḥ niśā-carāḥ
bhīmam ārta-svaram kṛtvā jagmuḥ prācīm diśam prati
70. Having seen him slain on the ground, the remaining Rākṣasas (night-wanderers) let out a terrible cry of distress and went towards the eastern direction.
