महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-123, verse-69

अवगाढमथो द्रोणं सलिले सलिलेचरः ।
ग्राहो जग्राह बलवाञ्जङ्घान्ते कालचोदितः ॥६९॥
69. avagāḍhamatho droṇaṁ salile salilecaraḥ ,
grāho jagrāha balavāñjaṅghānte kālacoditaḥ.

grāhaḥ jagrāha balavān jaṅghānte kālacoditaḥ
69. Then, as Drona was immersed in the water, a powerful crocodile, an aquatic creature, seized him by the thigh, being impelled by fate (kāla).
