योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-116, verse-5

अविरोधेन धर्मस्य युद्धे संमुखमागतम् ।
योधानुरूपं यो हन्ति शूरः स्वर्ग्यः स नेतरः ॥ ५ ॥
avirodhena dharmasya yuddhe saṃmukhamāgatam ,
yodhānurūpaṃ yo hanti śūraḥ svargyaḥ sa netaraḥ 5

5. A hero who, in battle, slays an enemy who has come face-to-face, doing so in a manner appropriate for a warrior and without violating natural law (dharma), is indeed destined for heaven; no one else is.
