योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-3, chapter-14, verse-37

एवं कनिष्ठजीवानां ज्येष्ठजीवक्रमाक्रमैः ।
समुदेत्यात्मजीवत्वं ताम्राणामिव हेमता ॥ ३७ ॥
evaṃ kaniṣṭhajīvānāṃ jyeṣṭhajīvakramākramaiḥ ,
samudetyātmajīvatvaṃ tāmrāṇāmiva hematā 37

37. In this manner, the true nature of the Self (ātmajīvatva) arises in lesser individual souls (jīva) through the progressive stages of higher individual souls (jīva), just as the state of gold (hematā) develops in copper.
