मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-69, verse-34

अल्पा कुरूपता विप्र कारणं शीलमुत्तमम् ।
रूपशीलविहीना या त्याज्या तेऽन्येन सा हृता ॥३४॥
34. alpā kurūpatā vipra kāraṇaṃ śīlamuttamam .
rūpaśīlavihīnā yā tyājyā te'nyena sā hṛtā.

34. O Brahmin, slight ugliness is a minor concern (reason for acceptance) when excellent character is present. However, a woman who lacks both beauty and good character should be abandoned; such a woman has already been taken away by another.
