मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-69, verse-17

उवाच द्वाःस्थमाहूय निश्वसन्नुरगो यथा ।
निराकृतस्तया देव्या प्रियया पतिरप्रियः ॥१७॥
17. uvāca dvāḥsthamāhūya niśvasannurago yathā .
nirākṛtastayā devyā priyayā patirapriyaḥ.

nirākṛtaḥ tayā devyā priyayā patiḥ apriyaḥ
17. Having been rejected by his beloved queen, who now found him displeasing, he called the doorkeeper and spoke, hissing like a snake.
