महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-2, verse-37

यथैधः स्वसमुत्थेन वह्निना नाशमृच्छति ।
तथाकृतात्मा लोभेन सहजेन विनश्यति ॥३७॥
37. yathaidhaḥ svasamutthena vahninā nāśamṛcchati ,
tathākṛtātmā lobhena sahajena vinaśyati.

tathā akṛtātmā lobhena sahajena vināśyati
37. Just as fuel is consumed by a fire that has arisen from itself, so too, an undeveloped individual (ātman) perishes due to innate greed.
