महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-53, verse-2

भीष्म उवाच ।
अदृष्ट्वा स महीपालस्तमृषिं सह भार्यया ।
परिश्रान्तो निववृते व्रीडितो नष्टचेतनः ॥२॥
2. bhīṣma uvāca ,
adṛṣṭvā sa mahīpālastamṛṣiṁ saha bhāryayā ,
pariśrānto nivavṛte vrīḍito naṣṭacetanaḥ.

2. Bhishma said: The king, having failed to find that sage (muni) with his wife, returned utterly exhausted, feeling ashamed and completely disheartened.
