अकिंचनमनःशून्यं स्त्रीचित्तमिव निर्भरम् ।
ततः प्रलयनिर्दग्धजगदास्पदभीषणम् ॥ ९ ॥

tataḥ pralayanirdagdhajagadāspadabhīṣaṇam 9

tataḥ pralaya-nirdagdha-jagat-āspada-bhīṣaṇam
9. (tat) akiṃcanamanaḥśūnyam strīcittam iva nirbharam (āsīt),

9. It was utterly empty, like the mind of one who possesses nothing, or like a woman's mind. Furthermore, it was terrifying, like the abode of the world incinerated during the cosmic dissolution (pralaya).
