मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
बहुधैवं विचिन्त्यासौ भीतस्तस्य सदा गुरोः ।
ययौ मतिमतां श्रेष्ठः शरणं जातवेदसम् ॥२५॥

25. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca .
bahudhaivaṃ vicintyāsau bhītastasya sadā guroḥ .
yayau matimatāṃ śreṣṭhaḥ śaraṇaṃ jātavedasam.

25.
Mārkaṇḍeya said: Having pondered thus in many ways, that person, the foremost among the intelligent and always fearful of his preceptor (guru), went to Jātavedas (Agni) for refuge.
