मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-96, verse-18

तं दृष्ट्वा सोऽनलं शान्तं शान्तिरत्यन्तदुःखितः ।
भीतश्च भूतेर्बहुधा चिन्तामाप महामतिः ॥१८॥
18. taṃ dṛṣṭvā so'nalaṃ śāntaṃ śāntiratyantaduḥkhitaḥ .
bhītaśca bhūterbahudhā cintāmāpa mahāmatiḥ.
18. tam dṛṣṭvā saḥ analam śāntam śāntiḥ atyantaduḥkhitaḥ
bhītaḥ ca bhūteḥ bahudhā cintām āpa mahāmatiḥ
18. The great-minded Shanti, seeing that fire extinguished, became extremely distressed and, fearing the outcome, experienced anxiety in many ways.
