मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
ततः परं तु भौत्यस्य समुत्पत्तिं निशामय ।
देवानृषींस्तथा पुत्रांस्तथैव वसुधाधिपान् ॥१॥

tataḥ paraṃ tu bhautyasya samutpattiṃ niśāmaya .
devānṛṣīṃstathā putrāṃstathaiva vasudhādhipān.

Mārkaṇḍeya said: Now, listen further to the account of Bhautya's origin—(including) the gods, the sages, the sons, and indeed the rulers of the earth (vasudhādhipān).
