महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-56, verse-39

तां नामृष्यत कौरव्यो गदां प्रतिहतां रणे ।
मत्तो द्विप इव क्रुद्धः प्रतिकुञ्जरदर्शनात् ॥३९॥
39. tāṁ nāmṛṣyata kauravyo gadāṁ pratihatāṁ raṇe ,
matto dvipa iva kruddhaḥ pratikuñjaradarśanāt.

39. The Kuru prince (Duryodhana), enraged, did not endure that mace, which had been repelled in battle, just like an intoxicated elephant (dvipa) at the sight of a rival elephant.
