महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-29, verse-36

निकृतेस्तस्य पापस्य ते पारं गमनेप्सवः ।
चारान्संप्रेषयामासुः समन्तात्तद्रणाजिरम् ॥३६॥
36. nikṛtestasya pāpasya te pāraṁ gamanepsavaḥ ,
cārānsaṁpreṣayāmāsuḥ samantāttadraṇājiram.

cārān saṃpreṣayāmāsuḥ samantāt tat raṇājiram

36. Desiring to overcome the deceit of that wicked one, they dispatched spies all around that battlefield.
