महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-33, verse-61

तथा वर्तति संग्रामे गजवाजिजनक्षये ।
नराश्वगजदेहेभ्यः प्रसृता लोहितापगा ।
नराश्वगजदेहान्सा व्युवाह पतितान्बहून् ॥६१॥
61. tathā vartati saṁgrāme gajavājijanakṣaye ,
narāśvagajadehebhyaḥ prasṛtā lohitāpagā ,
narāśvagajadehānsā vyuvāha patitānbahūn.

61. As the battle raged on, amidst the annihilation of elephants, horses, and men, a river of blood flowed forth from the bodies of men, horses, and elephants. That river carried away many fallen bodies of men, horses, and elephants.
