महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-33, verse-51

प्रवराणीव शैलानां शिखराणि द्विपोत्तमाः ।
सारोहा निहताः पेतुर्वज्रभिन्ना इवाद्रयः ॥५१॥
51. pravarāṇīva śailānāṁ śikharāṇi dvipottamāḥ ,
sārohā nihatāḥ peturvajrabhinnā ivādrayaḥ.

sa-ārohāḥ nihatāḥ petuḥ vajra-bhinnāḥ iva adrayaḥ
51. dvipa-uttamāḥ sa-ārohāḥ nihatāḥ,

vajra-bhinnāḥ adrayaḥ iva petuḥ
51. The finest elephants (dvipa), with their riders, struck down, fell like the magnificent peaks of mountains, or like mountains rent by a thunderbolt (vajra).
