महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-15, verse-55

न चास्त्रेण न शौर्येण तपसा मेधया न च ।
न धृत्या न पुनस्त्यागान्मृत्योः कश्चिद्विमुच्यते ॥५५॥

55. na cāstreṇa na śauryeṇa tapasā medhayā na ca ,
na dhṛtyā na punastyāgānmṛtyoḥ kaścidvimucyate.

55. kaścit na astreṇa ca,

55. No one (kaścit) is released (vimucyate) from death (mṛtyu) by weapons, nor by valor, nor by asceticism (tapas), nor by intelligence (medhā), nor by steadfastness, nor again by renunciation (tyāga).
