He became a dreadful, unapproachable ocean of arrows and weapons (iṣvastrasāgara), whose arrows were like fierce aquatic predators (grāha), whose bows were its waves, which was inexhaustible, lacked islands, and could not be crossed without a boat in battle. It was further marked by maces and swords acting as whirlpools for sea monsters (makara), horses as its larger aquatic beasts, and was teeming with elephants.
