ततो दग्धाविमौ पक्षौ न दग्धौ तु जटायुषः ।
तदा मे चिरदृष्टः स भ्राता गृध्रपतिः प्रियः ।
निर्दग्धपक्षः पतितो ह्यहमस्मिन्महागिरौ ॥४९॥

49. tato dagdhāvimau pakṣau na dagdhau tu jaṭāyuṣaḥ ,
tadā me ciradṛṣṭaḥ sa bhrātā gṛdhrapatiḥ priyaḥ ,
nirdagdhapakṣaḥ patito hyahamasminmahāgirau.
tadā me ciradṛṣṭaḥ sa bhrātā gṛdhrapatiḥ priyaḥ ,
nirdagdhapakṣaḥ patito hyahamasminmahāgirau.

tataḥ dagdhau imau pakṣau na dagdhau
tu jaṭāyuṣaḥ tadā me ciradṛṣṭaḥ saḥ
bhrātā gṛdhrapatiḥ priyaḥ nirdagdha-pakṣaḥ
patitaḥ hi aham asmin mahāgirau

49.
Then these two wings of mine were burnt, but Jatayu's were not. At that time, my dear brother, the lord of vultures, was well-known (to me). Indeed, with my wings completely burnt, I fell upon this great mountain.
