वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-5, chapter-35, verse-13

रामात् क्षयमनुप्राप्तं रक्षसां प्रत्यचोदयत् ।
न च तस्यापि दुष्टात्मा शृणोति वचनं हितम् ॥१३॥
13. rāmāt kṣayamanuprāptaṃ rakṣasāṃ pratyacodayat ,
na ca tasyāpi duṣṭātmā śṛṇoti vacanaṃ hitam.

13. He (Avindhya) advised Rāvaṇa concerning the destruction being brought upon the rākṣasas by Rāma. However, that evil-minded one did not even listen to his beneficial advice.
