महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-50, verse-3

त्वमित्युक्त्वैव राजानमेवं कश्मलमाविशः ।
हत्वा तु नृपतिं पार्थ अकरिष्यः किमुत्तरम् ।
एवं सुदुर्विदो धर्मो मन्दप्रज्ञैर्विशेषतः ॥३॥
3. tvamityuktvaiva rājānamevaṁ kaśmalamāviśaḥ ,
hatvā tu nṛpatiṁ pārtha akariṣyaḥ kimuttaram ,
evaṁ sudurvido dharmo mandaprajñairviśeṣataḥ.
3. tvam iti uktvā eva rājānam evam kaśmalam
āviśaḥ | hatvā tu nṛpatim pārtha
akariṣyaḥ kim uttaram | evam sudurvidaḥ
dharmaḥ mandaprajñaiḥ viśeṣataḥ
3. tvam iti uktvā eva rājānam evam kaśmalam āviśaḥ pārtha,
nṛpatim hatvā tu kim uttaram akariṣyaḥ evam dharmaḥ mandaprajñaiḥ viśeṣataḥ sudurvidaḥ (asti)
3. Having thus said 'you' to the king, you (Arjuna) entered into such a state of despondency. But if you, Arjuna (Pārtha), were to kill the king, what would be the consequence? Indeed, the principle of natural law (dharma) is very difficult to know, especially for those of dull intellect.
