भीमं दशार्धैर्युवराजं चतुर्भिर्द्वाभ्यां छित्त्वा कार्मुकं च ध्वजं च ।
पुनः पार्थं शरवर्षेण विद्ध्वा द्रौणिर्घोरं सिंहनादं ननाद ॥६१॥

Then Drauṇāyani (Aśvatthāmā) struck Arjuna with six arrows. He struck Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa) with ten, Bhīma with five, and the crown prince (Abhimanyu) with four. Having cut down both (Arjuna's) bow and banner with two (arrows), and having again pierced Pārtha (Arjuna) with a shower of arrows, Drauṇi (Aśvatthāmā) then uttered a terrible lion-roar.
