ततो बाणमयं वर्षं द्रोणपुत्रस्य मूर्धनि ।
अवासृजदमेयात्मा पाञ्चाल्यो रथिनां वरः ॥४०॥

40. tato bāṇamayaṁ varṣaṁ droṇaputrasya mūrdhani ,
avāsṛjadameyātmā pāñcālyo rathināṁ varaḥ.

40. Then Pāñcālya (Dhṛṣṭadyumna), whose spirit (ātman) was immeasurable and who was the best of charioteers, discharged a shower of arrows onto the head of Droṇa's son (Aśvatthāmā).
