महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-297, verse-74

यक्ष उवाच ।
यस्य तेऽर्थाच्च कामाच्च आनृशंस्यं परं मतम् ।
तस्मात्ते भ्रातरः सर्वे जीवन्तु भरतर्षभ ॥७४॥
74. yakṣa uvāca ,
yasya te'rthācca kāmācca ānṛśaṁsyaṁ paraṁ matam ,
tasmātte bhrātaraḥ sarve jīvantu bharatarṣabha.
74. yakṣa uvāca | yasya te arthāt ca kāmāt ca ānṛśaṃsyam param
matam | tasmāt te bhrātaraḥ sarve jīvantu bharatarṣabha
74. The Yakṣa said, 'O best among the Bhāratas (bharatarṣabha), since you consider compassion (ānṛśaṃsya) supreme, even above material gain (artha) and desire (kāma), therefore, all your brothers shall live.'
